Maintenance Manager
Virdia is actively seeking an individual to fill the position of Maintenance Manager.
The person in this position is responsible for ensuring maintenance objectives are in alignment with the plant and overall business unit.
Qualifications:
5 to 10 years of experience, manufacturing industry and plant management experience preferable
Bachelor's degree
Leadership capabilities
Experience in managing and directing maintenance technicians
Open mind to new technology
Good communication skills, open to multi cultures
Additional information: Minimum High School Diploma or GED to include at least two (2) years of computer skills on the job is required. Prefer a minimum five (5) years Industrial experience (Bachelor's degree can substitute for the experience). Experience in chemical processing or similar industry, as well as, related work experience based off military service is preferred.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Manage the Shops in accordance with Virdia procedures and protocols to ensure safe, environmental stewardship while reducing costs
Develop & Implement a Sustainable Periodic Maintenance Program
Incorporate metrics (i.e. mean time between failures, etc.) to measure effectiveness
Maintain maintenance & downtime reports to implement actions increasing overall equipment effectiveness
Develop a list of critical spares
Participate in development of Cap-X planning/ execution
Develop workforce plans and implement appropriate metrics
Discuss priorities, schedule changes, and issues with production team
Coordinate and track work with vendors & sub-contractors
Develop (or assist) in sub-contractor scope of work where applicable ? Interpret specs, prints, etc.
Assure all maintenance, upgrades, and additions to facilities and/ or equipment meet the applicable codes, regulations, and safe practice standards
Lead the lean manufacturing/continuous improvement process in the maintenance shop through developing and training to standard work, leading/participating in root cause failure analysis, provision of technical leadership & guidance, participation in audits
Working Conditions:
Required to work rotating shifts, Overtime and Holidays in accordance with production needs
Required to perform indoor and outdoor tasks
Required to participate in a team environment to accomplish tasks ? Required to wear proper required PPE dependent on task Physical Requirements:
Required to lift objects up to 100 lbs.
Frequent pushing/pulling
Frequent turning/twisted
Frequent squatting, reaching
Standing for long periods
Climbing stairs
Must be physically capable of wearing and using full face respirator
